The properties of vinyl gloves
Vinyl disposable gloves (base material polyvinyl chloride, also PVC) are, unlike a latex glove, free from allergenic proteins and a favourable alternative to latex and nitrile. Vinyl disposable gloves are recommended if the disposable gloves have to be changed frequently. The material can also be used when handling acids, alkalis and other low-risk chemicals. Vinyl also does not change under atmospheric influences. Therefore, latex gloves are suitable for simple nursing jobs, for conditional use in laboratories and food areas and for cleaning work without contact with concentrated chemicals. The majority of vinyl disposable gloves today do not contain the potentially hazardous phthalates diethyhexyphthalate (DEHP) and diethylhexyladipate (DEHA), i.e. plasticisers for PVC, and globally do not contain any allergenic proteins.Quality that convinces: the vinyl disposable gloves
The Eco-Plus brand vinyl gloves are classed as "Classic" quality. AMPri only sells products with a very good level of Basic quality, a superior Classic quality and an impressive Premium quality. You can wear the unpowdered, non-sterile vinyl gloves on your left or right hand, as the fit is intended for ambidextrous use. "Dop/dehp-free" is a special attribute of these vinyl disposable gloves. The vinyl disposable gloves are categorised as Md class i (medical product class). Our recommendations for how vinyl disposable gloves should be used
These vinyl gloves are only approved for non-sterile applications. Chemical predection type b indicates that the vinyl gloves provide protection against permeation as defined by the important EN 374 standard. It defines the minimum penetration time for a certain number of chemicals from a list of defined test chemicals. Type A = 6 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type B = 3 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type C = 1 test chemical/10 minutes. The gloves are also airtight and watertight. The vinyl disposable gloves offer protection from microorganisms, meaning that they are impervious to viruses, bacteria and fungi. These vinyl gloves are basically suitable for handling food. They are especially suitable for acidic, dry, and watery foods. We therefore recommend vinyl disposable gloves for these sectors: body-related services and food industry. If you have any questions about the potential uses of these vinyl disposable gloves or are unsure if they are right for your needs, please feel free to get in touch with us via the contact form! The benefits of vinyl
- As a synthetic material, vinyl is free of proteins, which can be allergenic, and other sensitising ingredients.
- The gentle and flattering vinyl is extremely comfortable to wear on the skin.
- Skin irritation is reliably prevented as vinyl has good resistance to acids, alkalis and other chemicals (except concentrated chemicals).
The downsides of vinyl
- Vinyl gloves are significantly less accurate than latex disposable gloves or nitrile gloves.
- The suppleness of vinyl gloves is also noticeably lower. They also have less abrasion resistance than latex or nitrile.
- Some vinyl gloves contain plasticisers, which are fat-soluble – as a result, single-use vinyl gloves can only be used in food production or food processing to a limited degree. Plasticisers, i.e. phthalates, such as DEHP diethylhexyl phthalate or DEHA diethylhexyl adipate are a potential health risk.
