Measurement and size tables for disposable gloves, shoes, anti-slip socks and clothing

Determining the right size for disposable gloves

Why is the right size so important for disposable gloves?

Disposable gloves that are too tight can be very uncomfortable on the hands, while disposable gloves that are too large worsen the sense of touch and thus also hinder work.

Correct determination of the size of the PPE disposable glove

PPE disposable gloves are specified in sizes 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.

To determine the correct size of your disposable gloves, all you need is a flexible measuring tape and the illustration below. The correct size of your disposable gloves is important so that you can reliably carry out precise work with the disposable gloves over a longer period of time. First measure the circumference of your hand at the widest point with a tape measure. This is usually at about the level of the knuckles. The tape measure should rest on the skin, but not press against the hand or cut into the skin.

Now read off the circumference of your hand and use the diagram to determine the appropriate glove size.

Correctly determine the size of the disposable medical glove

Medical disposable gloves are specified in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL and XXXL.

To determine the correct size of a disposable medical glove, the width of the palm from the beginning of the index finger to the lowest point of the little finger is used. Usually, the width of the disposable glove is measured rather than the palm.

If you are unsure or are wavering between two sizes, you can request samples in both sizes from us free of charge and without obligation. This way you can try out which size feels best on your hands and with which glove the tactile sensation is best before you decide on a box or carton in the corresponding size.

Is your disposable medical glove also a PPE glove?

Your disposable medical glove also belongs to the PPE glove category and therefore has a special regulation of dimensions.

We have developed an individual size chart exclusively for you.

To determine the chest circumference, measure slightly below the armpits horizontally around the chest.

215-008-L Nitrile disposable gloves, L, blue, (dark blue)

We recommend blue and white nitrile disposable gloves for occupational safety, education, other medicine, industry, close-contact services, hospitals, the food industry and government authorities. For the food industry, we particularly recommend blue, food-grade nitrile disposable gloves, as whole nitrile disposable gloves or sections of nitrile disposable gloves can be found quickly and without much effort.

The properties of nitrile disposable gloves

Nitrile gloves fit like a second skin and offer a high degree of elasticity during use. Nitrile is a synthetic rubber material (elastic polymers). Nitrile is extremely flexible and hard-wearing. Single-use gloves made of nitrile are leak-proof, so they do not develop holes or become permeable when overstretched. Disposable nitrile gloves offer strong resistance to oils, greases and solvents and dependably protect against viruses and germs, which is why they can be used as part of personal protective equipment in numerous fields and industries, such as clinics and healthcare facilities, care homes for the elderly and infirm, and doctors' or dentists' surgeries, as well as in food production and processing, minor cleaning jobs, the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, and in hairdressing, cosmetics and tattoo studios.

Nitrile exam gloves in material thickness: "thin"

The thin material is between 0.05 and a maximum of 0.09 mm thick and guarantees very good tactile sensitivity. The breakthrough time of this single-use product is longer than it would be in an ultra-thin disposable glove or finger cot made of similar material, and the product is also more stable and durable.

Quality of the nitrile exam gloves

These nitrile examination gloves from the Puracomfort brand are "basic" quality. AMPri only sells products of either a very solid basic standard of quality, a more deluxe "classic" quality or superior "premium" quality. The powder-free, non-sterile, single-use glove is ambidextrous (can be worn on either hand). It does not have additional length, which means it does not provide splash protection. The nitrile gloves gloves are fingertip textured, so they provide a much more effective grip than non-textured disposable gloves. As category III personal protective equipment in accordance with the PPE Regulation ((EU) 2016/425), they keep the user safe from health hazards that are permanent or potentially fatal. Nitrile examination gloves are categorised as class I medical devices. This class comprises medical items or products that have no impact on the body and generally pose very little risk. These nitrile gloves are only approved for non-sterile use. The production quality can be determined by the AQL value, i.e. the acceptable quality level. For disposable medical gloves, the AQL is 1.5 or less, which is exactly what these nitrile disposable gloves meet.

We recommend nitrile disposable gloves for these applications

Nitrile disposable gloves are especially suitable for food containing alcohol, greasy food, acidic food, dry food and watery food and, consequently, are intended for food handling in general. The nitrile disposable gloves offer protection from microorganisms and are consequently impervious to viruses, bacteria and fungi. Chemical protection type B signifies that the nitrile examination gloves provide protection from permeation according to the crucial EN 374 standard. It states the minimum penetration time for a specific number of chemicals from a list of particular test chemicals. Type A = 6 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type B = 3 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type C = 1 test chemical/10 minutes. The gloves are also airtight and watertight. Consequently, we recommend nitrile gloves for these sectors: occupational safety, education, other medicine, industry, close-contact services, hospitals, the food industry and government authorities. If you have any questions about the potential uses of these nitrile gloves or are wondering if they are right for your needs, please feel free to get in touch with us via the contact form!
  • Nitrile is extremely elastic; it can be stretched to over 500% of its base dimensions. One especially unique feature: nitrile boasts a sort of "material memory", meaning that it adapts to the shape of the hand.
  • It offers an ideal grip and is less prone to puncturing than other materials, making it safer.
  • Nitrile's chemical resistance facilitates a broad range of applications. It is also the perfect alternative to latex for people with allergies because nitrile is protein-free.
